Changing B4YourEyes 118 Posted September 20, 2012 I'm 2 months and 4 days post VSG. I have lost a good amount of weight and inches and I should be relieved. My emotions have been all over the place. I'm not PMS-ing. When I woke up this morning I just felt overwhelmed. All the thinking that goes into this, what I'm going to eat, when and how long to exercise, did I take my Vitamins, did I drink my Water, hell when was the last time I took a dump? I am mentally tired. Do any of you have any suggestions or advice?
notime 340 Posted September 20, 2012 It certainly seems to take up a lot of time and effort. I'm hoping some of it will soon become a routine. One small suggestion--if you aren't already doing this, get a pill case, the kind that has compartments marked with the different days of the week, and use it for your Vitamins. I use two of them so I only have to refill once every two weeks. That will help with the question of whether you have taken your vitamins. 2 Belinda and Imjustmee reacted to this
Imjustmee 44 Posted September 20, 2012 I second the pill case suggestion. It was .97 cent at wal mart and has been a life saver. I find I also get overwhelmed late at night when I'm alone with my thoughts. Just talk to people and let it out. Im only 2 weeks and 4 days post op so your farther along than me. Allow yourself to Celebrate what you have accomplished. We all have our ways of coping, for me I just talk myself down and remind myself I will make it passed this. Cliche quote "this too shall pass". Best of luck.
SkinnyMinnie2Be 255 Posted September 20, 2012 I'm still pre op but I'm using this time to get prepared. I agree with the pill case idea, it saved my life! As a nurse, I am accustomed to chart anything and everything on my patients. So I made up a word document on my laptop, printed it and made about 100 copies (enough to last me 3+months) and put it all in a binder. My plan is when I take my Vitamins, I will check mark the Vitamin entry. I will write down what I eat, I will calculate my Protein ad Water an carbs as calories etc. this may seem like too much to some people...but ill be taking 2 months off of work afte my operation so I have time to focus on myself. Can u set an alarm on ur phone for vitamins? Try establishing a routine. For example, mine is vitamins before bed. I keep them in my bathroom and take them when I'm done my night routine
Chelle68 27 Posted September 20, 2012 I may need to be paying more attention but the only things I really keep a tally on are my Water and Protein intake. I keep my Vitamins on my dresser and take my Iron when I first wake and the rest when I leave for work about 2 hours later. I am almost 4 weeks out. I think I may need to start counting calories. I was keeping in my head but maybe logging on my ipad would be better. Thanks all for the ideas. Just remove the stress. Have a great day and smile you are doing great.
