Yes, but I used to love it before surgery and now not so much

I was told nothin acidic, including tomatoes, for 12 weeks.

You want to be careful with those kinds juices- many times they have a high sugar content and the acid can kick reflux into high gear.

I drank it on full liquids and still do, but I am going with the low salt version. My doctor approved it. V-8 has 12 grams of sugar, 70 calories, three grams of Protein and counts as 12 oz of liquids. You can also buy it in a smaller can. I use it to augment my vegetable intake. I am not necessarily advocating it for you as each doctor seems to have different rules. Perhaps you would want to check with your nutritionist.

It was on my list of liquids. Just the low sodium.

Mmmmm, spicy hot V8 juice. One of my favorites before surgery, kind of like a Bloody Mary but no alcohol. Still have not tried one yet after surgery but maybe down the road a bit.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
