Dee-Texas 5 Posted September 19, 2012 Is there any surgeon that doesn't require a long pre-op diet? I know with band surgery some did and some didn't...looking back..it didn't make that much difference other than the patients loss rate was much greater on paper after the surgery. pandee04 5 Posted September 19, 2012 My surgeon didn't require a pre-op diet aside from the liquid diet 2 days before surgery. I went on a liquid diet (protein shake overload) myself a week before to kind of get used to the changes though.
RickM 1,752 Posted September 19, 2012 There are a lot of the surgeons out there who do not require an extensive pre-op diet. Some will require one only for some patients, usually those with a higher starting BMI. My doc doesn't require any pre-op diet other than the usual day before thing. Amanda 3.0 140 Posted September 19, 2012 My pre-op diet was simply vegetarian and very low fat for two weeks prior to surgery. Of course, nothing to eat after midnight the night before. I felt very fortunate, although my birthday plans for a Brazilian steakhouse dinner were dashed. It was okay, though!
Squisha 99 Posted September 19, 2012 I had no pre op diet at all, i was allowed to eat normally until 6pm the day before surgery and then nothing not even Water after midnight.

Amanda 3.0 140 Posted September 19, 2012 Dr. Cribbins is in Plano. See my post above. While still a "pre-op diet" it was very easy. I was very pleased with all aspects of my experience with Dr. Cribbins' office and Texas Health (Presbyterian) Plano was a wonderful experience as well. 1 Ms. Brightside reacted to this
