Jesser 295 Posted September 19, 2012 Out of curiosity, how are YOU paying for your surgery? Did you take out a personal loan? Save it all up prior to booking your surgery? Put it on a credit card? I'm just considering all the options available. I'd like to know what others are doing to pay for their surgery... 1 Nicki13 reacted to this
massindex 346 Posted September 19, 2012 I took a loan out against my 401k. I figured I would be dead soon enough if I didn't get this done. Great investment in me. 2 kmwheel and Nicki13 reacted to this
rmbtcb4evr 29 Posted September 19, 2012 I did Flexible Spending Plan through my work. Spread it out over a year. So it wasn't that much of a inconvenience for my family. You might want to inquire if you have it at work. Plus it saves on taxes:)

Jesser 295 Posted September 19, 2012 I don't have a 401k set up (even though I should) I don't make a lot of money, and I need every dollar I make, I can't afford to put any of it back right now. My only options really are to try and get a loan at my bank or just try and save up, but that could take forever. I know something will come up and I'd use the saved money and more than likely wouldn't be able to get the surgery. I need to win the lottery lol
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted September 19, 2012 I saved and paid cash. I believe debt is a cancer. If tgat weren't an option for me I would have sold a car and drove a hoopty for a while to get it done. Hell, I'd have rode the bus to get this done. 2 Nicki13 and Jesser reacted to this
Carrie's Journey 130 Posted September 19, 2012 I took a loan out against our car, which had been paid off. But it was worth it...
Chezaraeh 8 Posted September 19, 2012 I am using my financial aid money from school. I went back to school this semester and took advantage of every loan/grant they would give me. Total of $7600. After class fees and books, that let me with $5600. So I took $3500 and am using it as my down payment to have surgery through Belite Weight. I leave this Sunday! amykins 202 Posted September 19, 2012 I got a second job and saved for nearly a year to pay for the surgery. I don't do debt anymore (except my house). 2 O.T.R. sleever and Territravel reacted to this
bethxxx 304 Posted September 19, 2012 My insurance covered most of it, the left over for me to pay is $5000. It's pretty good considering it would have been $14,000 without insurance. Luckily I have $5000 for the surgery so I didn't have much trouble with the financial side. Good luck finding a way though

julielle 199 Posted September 19, 2012 I'll be getting a loan. I could save up for it for a year and then pay outright, but I'd rather get the surgery now rather than let another year go by. I'll be making extra payments on the loan to get it over with faster though. 1 Nicki13 reacted to this
