I was curious if anyone uses Weight Watchers with their Sleeve to keep track of their food and make better choices?

Haha, yeah thats make sense. I just have a real fear of regaining after a year if I am not on a strict plan. Sometimes I can really convince myself something doesnt have THAT many calories...

I asked my NUT about getting on a program like weight watchers and she told me "why do you feel the need to diet when you just had weight loss surgery?" Then she went on to say that it is not a good idea because I will not get in all of my nutrients and caloric intake. Go figure! Try using myfitnesspal.com to keep track.

Thanks! I will look up that site. I feel like I DO need to diet after surgery or I will go back to my old ways. I currently have a Lapband and want the Sleeve. I do plan on getting therapy to help with this, but I am pretty disciplined when I do keep track and see a "you went over your daily calorie budget" its a wake up call.

Mfp still tells me I'm only getting half the cals I need. I find it impossible to get more than 700

MyFitnessPal.com seems to work for me. I adjusted my calorie settings to where I know it will work for me. Mine are currently set at 900 and MFP will tell you that it's too low because it doesn't know that I've had weight loss surgery. I feel it's a good tool to use, and plus it's free. Use whatever tool works for you. I personally feel it helps and keeps me motivated to stay on track. Feel free to add me if you're on there. I'm 'specialemy'.

I would suggest using the app 'My Fitness Pal' it has everything you need to keep up ' track what you eat, you can put exercise in & etc - also you can scan bar codes & etc - it has been a big help since I started this while process...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
