Piedad 0 Posted September 18, 2012 Does anyone know if it's ok to wear heels 3 to 4 weeks post op? I am not sure and would like to go back to wearing heels for work but I am not sure since my incision is still a bit open.
TracyLynn 30 Posted September 18, 2012 I am not sure, but at about 5 weeks out I felt good as new and was able to wear heels.
Jolie_KeMi 345 Posted September 18, 2012 I wore 5 inch heels about 3 weeks PO. I had no complications after surgery and my body felt pretty normal by week 2. Wear them around the house for a few hours first, then see how you feel afterward. Just listen to your body...it will tell you if its ready or not. Take some cute flats with you to work just in case. Good luck! 3 SkinnyMinnie2Be, CantBelieve_IdidIit! and TracyLynn reacted to this

NDN_RN 527 Posted September 18, 2012 Really?? Just out of curiosity.. why wouldnt you be able to wear heels?? Not sure I understand the correlation between shoes and weight loss surgery.... My weight has caused plantar faciitis' date=' causing severe heel and arch pain when i walk. I hobble in flats, i would kill myself in heels!

CaliKat 153 Posted September 19, 2012 The one big "downside" (if you could even call it that ) was I lost about 1/2 a shoe size since surgery.... making many of my shoes kinda big. High heels that dont fit well can be floppy and downright dangerous. I am betting by the time I hit goal, I may be a full size down. Im gonna miss my old shoes but LOVE my new ones!!! I guess everything shrinks! Feet too! 1 CantBelieve_IdidIit! reacted to this

Piedad 0 Posted September 19, 2012 Thank you all! You have been very helpful. I have been with flats and sneakers since my surgery. I like wearing my heels to work and I look forward to my feet shrinking so I can have more of a selection when it comes to heels.
