I have Cigna. The nut's office gave me an appt with the wrong person - had to wait 6 weeks for a new appt.

Finished my 6 months nut sessions in June. The psych was done in May, so that was out of the way.

They did not contact me til the First week in August about getting a new request from my PCP and my eval from the nut needed to be re-done ( because of the 6 weeks they took to look at my stuff to submit ).

One week later, they submitted to Cigna and 3 days after that I was approved.

I went to the surgeon's office the last week of August and then it got nuts. I had to get a clearance from my nephrologist. Luckily, I'd had my appointment for the day before and asked for a clearance letter, just in case. And they wanted a new clearance letter from my PCP. So, another visit to the PCP to get the new clearance.

At the meeting, they tell me I need to get clearance from a pulmonologist because I have sleep apnea. I got an appt for 2 weeks ago. After that clearance, they told me I needed a clearance from a cardiologist and to get a chest x-ray ( had that done at my annual physical on 7/7, so I was one step ahead of them). Got that clearance this past Monday (17th). I no sooner get home and they tell me they want a copy of my sleep test.

I, at that time, wrote a scathing email and said in effect...I think you are doing whatever you can to postpone giving me a date.

Of course the administrator blames the nurse, etc. I called my PCP to tell him what is going on.

I then get an email stating they received my cardiology clearance ( of course they did; I emailed it myself ) . They wanted the info about the sleep test: where done, when, what doctor and his phone number.

Yesterday I get a call that they ( surgeon's office ) contacted the sleep center and they would be sending over a copy of the study to the surgeon's office.

Then I get an email to call the administrator.

She tells me my date is Oct. 12th; I have a 7 hr class on the 10th; have to take some online course and take the 2 tests, print them out and bring to the class and get more bloodwork ( the work done by my PCP is now over 30 days old).

I should mention that every clearance (except the psych eval and the cardiac - I sent by email) all "somehow" was not received even though the fax machine is right there on her desk. So I spent time calling the dr's offices to re-fax the clearances.

I think they should give you a list stating what needs to be done - at one time, so you can call that same day and get appointments. Not this one at a time garbage.

I was thinking that my surgery was going to be in June, boy was I wrong!

Doesn't it seem like they just make things up as they go along? I was REALLY lucky and all went pretty smoothly for me, but geesh! Some of the stories i've read on here! Crazy!!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
