I'm 16 days out. I've started on phase 2, soft food but I've also had numerous dumping incidents. I am still trying to eat by sight. I see a small portion and my brain tells me its fine, not too much. But my stomach soon tells me differently. I am working on eating slower and paying attention to my stomach, not my eyes. eggs are still not my friend, however refried Beans are heavenly. Just today I got to eat more than 3 or 4 bites before I was full. I mean, before I was full after 3 bites to the point that licking the spoon sent me running to the bathroom to throw up.

I was sleeved on the 17th too! I am still pretty miserable. Was feeling better this morning once everything started moving (pooping) and less bloated but now I am right back there looking like I am pregnant again this afternoon. I just don't get it. How can I still have so much air in me? I am starting to worry. Emotions are all over the place as well today which is strange. I think I am just sick of being in this house not able to do anything worthwhile and not having the energy to do other things. Definitely having "buyer's remorse" here on day 4.

I have been trying to poop but i can't. I really have to but i am scared to push to hard. What am i going to do. If i don't go this weekend i am going to call the doc on Monday. I can feel it but it hurts to strain and stuff. I know it is TMI but i need relief soon.

I'm ready to eat too! The Protein Shakes are ok but I want real food. My incisions are itching so bad today it's driving me crazy. My tape is still on but can't tell if I have stitches. The big incision still hurts that I have to take medicine to sleep. Zelada is great, he is so happy and upbeat that it relaxed me and I trusted him when he told me I would be fine through surgery. My risks were higher because my bmi is so high and me being a single mom made me very scared.

Yeah for me....finally pooped this evening. Have been getting my Water in and walking several times a day ....think I covered 2 miles today...in four walks. My little dog is happy that he is getting taken out for walk more .

To all of you that are having emotional ( crying ) episodes....this is a post op thing after anesthesia. Just go ahead and get it out of your system.

I still burping a lot. Glad I found this thread to have the emotional and knowledge support of others going through similar things as me.

Praying for all of us!!

I was sleeved on the 19th. I have not taken any pain meds. I did have a little nausea. My issue now is the gas. I am sipping very slowly and very little at a time but still getting the gas pain. I started walking right after surgery and went walking once I got home with no problems. Because of the gas pain I'm afraid I'm not getting enough fluids in. Any suggestions.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
