Momofthing1thing2thing3 116 Posted June 19, 2013 Back in another stall. It seems like I stall for months. Suddenly lose 10 pounds and then stall again. What's up with that? Frustrating.

Barisaxylady 154 Posted June 20, 2013 I'm sitting here at my support group and they keep reminding us to follow the rules. We are 9 months out and I think most of us, myself included, are possibly getting a little over confident. I'm getting the binder that my surgeons office gave me and am going to remind myself of the rules. The people I know who are 2, 3, 4 years out and maintaining still are following the rules. I want to maintain, I don't want to be one of those who gain it back. Lets commit to each other to go back to basics and remember the rules we were given and not just be a statistic, be the success stories!

I think it's easier now to eat off plan and that's not a good thing. I want to stick to the rules also. Maybe we should make a list of rule for everyone to read. What do you think? greenfamily004 172 Posted June 20, 2013 List of rules... Everyone please go back and check your material given to us at surgery time. It would be nice to refresh here to help us all. Also, it would be interesting to see the differences between the list. I have this. 1. Protein first a minimum of 60 per day (more is better) then veggies. 2. Water or liquids. Must have a minimum of 8 8oz glasses per day. Caffeine does not count. 3. Do not drink 30 min before or after you eat. 4. Eat slowly and chew your food 25 times before you swallow. 5. Eat no more than 6-8 bites. Don't stretch your stomach What do you guys have??

jeepermom 14 Posted June 20, 2013 So at my 9 month checkup yesterday, I fessed up to everything...and my program has started what they call a "Bari Bootcamp." It's more for newer patients that haven't gotten the swing of things, but they said it might be a good idea for me. It's one morning a week for 6 weeks. Topics include exercise, meal planning, relapse awareness, mindful eating, and mindfulness overall. I had my first one this morning. It was on mindfulness overall. Each "class" also has 15 minutes of exercise except the exercise class which is, of course, all about exercise. I'm really excited to get back on the wagon. I know that writing everything down was a big help for me in the beginning and I just need to accept that i will be food journaling from here to eternity...LOL. Hope you all are having a great day! greenfamily004 172 Posted June 21, 2013 Keeper- that's great that they offer that kind of support. I wish I had a better support group. 1 jeepermom reacted to this
jeepermom 14 Posted June 21, 2013 I am very thankful for all of the support I have available to me, including this board. I have also started seeing a therapist and together we poked at a couple of things yesterday that have been hidden pretty deep...so now I have to explore that. But I think in the long-run it will help all aspects of my life. OH...and on a positive note...I put on a pair of size 16 jeans today. I don't remember ever being smaller than a size 18...most of middle & high school was a size 18 and then college went up from there! YAY!
