I am a size 14 1/2 a 16 is too big. I have been this size for some time now as well. I thought that was good? No? What were your beginning measurements? Will he do a RNY when you are this small?

Hi Artsong

I know how you feel I am right there with you. I have lost 30 pounds since day of surgery and will be hitting 6 months on the 24th of March. I too thought it would be a lot faster loss. I too am wondering what the hell I spent me my money for.

The one thing that really bugs me is in the Morning I weigh 118.7 and in the evening I weigh between 3 and 5 pounds more' date=' making it really difficult to decide how much I have lost. I am now not counting losses unless it is also a loss in the evening.

I have been exercising regularly and starting keeping a journal again. I am having trouble keeping on the presurgery diet so I have given it up for now. Hopefully with counting each and everything again I will be able to see whats wrong.

on a more postiive note congrats to everyone else most of you are doing fabulous.[/quote']

I only weigh myself in the AM. I found that I also weigh more at night! I guess it is Water build up or something so I just go by my morni g weight!

If you have been working out from the start or for about a week then you ran through our storage reserve of glycogen and your body need to remake it and that takes a few days/ weeks and 4 lbs or so of Water. That's what iv read and been told. I have been god I hope remaking glycogen for umm 3 weeks I was at 205 then back up to 208 were I have been for a few weeks now.

How many calories are you eating ladies? Im only asking because maybe your slow loss (i am slow too) has to do with too few calories if your working out. I havent really even worked out at all and i eat around 1200 cals. If your burning more than you eat thats not good for your body...even with what you burn you should b closer to 1000 cals. My BMR is like 1750 so i have a 550 cal deficiency about a day...but your body needs 1000 to 1200 a day just to function....

Just something to look at and im not trying to preach because we are all different but i dont see how you can live off 600 cals a day 6 months out. My capacity to eat has tripled since the second month....again just my two cents.

Personally i feel everyone is doing great even if you feel you havent lost enough yet.

artsong thanks for the info

jenn i just started working out about 4 weeks ago and burn maybe 180cal. my caloric intake is around 800-900, lately its been over 1200. my dr said 1200 is fine. so its not the working out defeating me. i did stop taking my Calcium and thats when i noticed the stalling also my dr just gave me a prescription for Vitamin D its low so i will see what happens

Blah my docs are talking revision to RNY DS coz the way they add it up the most I have lost on average is 5.4 a month for my 6months. I see my new bariatric surgeon next week and he has the last word Nutritionist and family doctor put their vote in for revision. With my muscle mass not working out is a no go ;) I plan to keep what I have :). I'm not sure if I'm sad happy mad or just to the point I don't care anymore. I would not get it till a year out coz I think it would take me 6 months just to save up the 35k for it. I'm taking my kids to Disney land for the summer so it would take me a bit to save up for it maybe by then I won't need it " lmao I know better"

well guys had my 6 month visit today. she told me that they expect 60lbs loss in the first 6 months i am what 6lbs shy' date=' so she put me on a 1x a day Meal Replacement which is fine with me. it kind of hurt my feelings but everyone is differant. i then showed her my before and after at 5 months and she almost fell out she said i thought this was your mother and you. she said wow keep it up. so yea its not showing on the scale but its showing dang it.

so today i got some plain greek yogart to try out with sugar free cheesecake puding mix and i muist say it taste like cheese cake and the yogart is so dang thick i feel like i am eating a cheesecake lol.

so starting tomorrow i am on seafood and veggies no chicken beef pork. lets get this going.

oh and the lbs i lost weas Water but i still think my theory of more carbs and less protien is the answer oh and she agreed with less protien so i will keep it under 75 now.

artsong hang in there sweetie we will look back in a few months and laugh. (i hope)[/quote']

That is a great visit!!! I have mine in a couple if weeks, actually on my 40th birthday wonder what they will say because my scale has been stuck on 153_156 for about a month but I see it in how my clothes fit.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
