Thinner Peace 24 Posted September 18, 2012 My surgeon does does use a bougie to size my stomach, instead he uses a scope. The surgeon's report indicates that my stomach is 7.5 inches x 2.5 inches x 1.5 inches. Does that not seem large? I do not start to feel restriction until 6-8 ounces. I am 3 months out. PdxMan 4,292 Posted September 18, 2012 Hmmm ... A tube should only have two dimensions, length and diameter, so I don't know which it is, assuming the 7.5 is length. Not much they can do on that one. It is what it is. Do you follow the rules explicitly? Not drinking before, during or after? Do you start with the lean Protein first? As long as you are doing that, you'll be fine. The difference between an once or two will only amount, on average to a few dozen calories, assuming you are eating healthy. So, let's say you are then eating 100 more calories per day than the sleever next door. That means that after 35 days, you will have lost one less pound than them. (3,500 calories = 1 pound) Calculate it like you want to, bottom line is you are going to lose weight if you do the right things. An inch here or there in stomach size really isn't going to be that impactful. 1 shrinkydinkme reacted to this
Dooter 1,457 Posted September 18, 2012 My doc said he uses a scope to size the sleeve also, and he told me it is equivalent to a 34 bougie. I also feel like I could hold a lot early on, and still do but he still says to stay with 1/2 cup of food at any one time. Eat slowly and rely on the full feeling. It's hard to do, but you will otherwise end up eating too much.
Ijam75 102 Posted September 18, 2012 Repeat of the above replies... Your sleeve size doesn't make you lose weight, portion size, food choices and exercise do. Of course, this is easier said than done and if I could have done this without surgery, well I wouldn't be here today. Good luck.
