When I "eat" I Get Bubbles?

Recommended Posts

Am on all liquids. When I "eat" cream Soup I notice a lot of "bubbles/gurgles". I don't know how else to describe them, but that's all I can think to describe it. My husband doesn't understand, but hopefully fellow sleeves do! Is this normal? Thanks!

I tried cheddar broccoli Soup the other day (minus the big chunks of broccoli) and boy do i regret that! I think it was way too rich for my stomach and i felt sick for about 5 minutes but i do find that some dairy based products (specifically pudding) give me that gurgly feeling. Its kinda weird...i hope it goes away. I actually am experiencing this right now lol

Does yours hurt? Mine just feels weird.

No, like you, it doesn't hurt, just feels weird. And I have to arch my back & it helps. Seems like sometimes it is gas?? Sometimes I burp, and sometimes I don't. ::shrug::

I get "frothy" bubbles sometimes. For me, I think it's from eating too fast or on the edge of too much. I can actually spit them out. Gross, I know. It's all a learning experience at this point.

Mine isn't like that. It is just in my tummy & stays there. Nothing comes up!

Yes, it is normal. I am 7 months out and I still do it. I tell my hubby, "well, I'm croaking again.' It sounds just like a little frog to me. It doesn't hurt, it's just one of those weird annoying things that goes along with having a sleeve. Not everyone has it, but it is very common. It will be worse if you lay down soon after eating or drinking or drink something that has fizz.

It's normal for your stomach to talk. Mine still does sometimes at about 8 weeks out. It's less than it used to. Sometimes it's air that comes up, sometimes it's just down in my stomach where it gurgles. You could try gas-x strips if it's uncomfortable. Actually, as I'm sitting here right now my stomach is gurgling pretty loud from Breakfast =p

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
