SO....I have not been the best patient when it comes to my Vitamins. I started with the Vitaban in berry and they let me try one while I was in the office, I should have steered away then. I have tortured myself with these vitamins. Every time I take them it never fails I am stooped over ready to vomit! I have never actually vomited since surgery, but this is the worst feeling in the world. I switched to 2 childrens Flinstones per day. WELLL I just looked and they only have 200mg of Calcium for two tablets? Whereas vitaban has 600 for 2 tablets, my NUT said I need a supplement of calcium anyway so I bought some tums with calcium, as approved by her. Does anyone know a good substitute for the vitaban? I like having the Biotin and other vitamins higher like in the vitaban, i just cant stomach them! Any others with these issues?

I was takin re Viva liquid which is really good. Then all the sudden I cannot tolerate it! Same thing, I was stooped over trying not to hurl. Flinstones here I come. I take viactive for calcium. My NUT said they are fine because I'm not a bypass patient, so the citrate is ok.

I take the Solotron Vitamin from GNC, It’s a Multivitamin, along with calcium citrate chewable. I also take some extra Biotin, along with a sublingual b-12. Per my NUT. No bend over wanna puke or anything. They taste ok, could be worse, but not vomit worthy.

I was told Flintstones are easiest for "us" to tolerate. And my doc said to take a calcium citrate supplement. :-)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
