You all say' date=' "add a half scoop of unflavored Protein powder" to your drinks or food, like that's the easiest thing to do! When I add this powder, it clumps - never fully dissolves and I can't get it down! What's the secret?

What Protein Powder are you using & what are you mixing it with?

How much do you add? A full scoop? How much milk? You said Milk chocolate flavor' date=' then you said you use Unflavored whey Protein.I have a Magic Bullet. Guess I need list of your ingredients. Sorry to be so dense!

I take 1 cup of milk, one scoop of Slim Fast Milk chocolate flavor, 1/2 scoop of unflavored whey then some crushed ice (it leaves less chunks) then I blend in the bullet. I don't drink this everyday. Mainly for a post-workout treat.

GNC unflavored Soy Protein. Tried it in Soups -clumped. Tried it in yogurt - it clumped. Tried it in homemade shakes but wasn't sure of amount to use.

Hmmm, migh be the powder you have doesn't mix well, most of us that mix extra Protein into stuff are using whey protein isolate (a milk based protein rather than a plant based)

I was testing this out during my preop diet - adding the unflavored Protein to my chicken broth. I tried the fusion Unflavored but I also have Isopure Unflavored on order. I added the packet of Protein Powder to about 1/4 cup of Water and used a fork to kind of wisk it until the clumps were gone. Then I added it to my Soup. It didn't clump, thicken or change the flavor at all. I anticipate that I will do the same when I add it to mashed potatoes. I did read that you can not add it directly to very hot food or that will curdle it a bit and make it lumpy, etc.

Thanks for the tip! I will definitely try this.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
