Pimples On My 50 Yr Old Face!

Recommended Posts

....and I have no clue what to use. Yes, I will make an appointment with my dermatologist, but in the meantime what do I use? I have no clue and I have one on my jaw that hurts. In my youth I used Witch Hazel and Clearasil. Does Clearasil even still exist? ;-)

Gotta love the hormones being released in my fat, but this is crazy. Pimples and wrinkles!

Clearasil is still around - but it's pretty potent. I'm 31, still get hormonal acne. At the moment I use an antibacterial soap followed with moo goo products. Love them! I find I

Just can't use the supermarket products anymore because my skin isn't oily

If you want to use something to get you by, there is a Neutrogena product at Walmart that I bought to help with the oiliness after surgery called "Oil Free Acne Wash" -Pink grapefruit foaming scrub- I love it bc it exfoliates and keeps the oil content down on my face (which I've experienced a ton of since surgery). It also smells really nice and fresh so I have been pleased. My face hasn't cleared up completely, but I can tell a notable difference since I got it. The breakouts have been driving me crazy. Good luck!

It’s a combination of the hormones being released from your stored fat cells and kinda a detox your doing with the change in diet the Water change of food its like flushing your system so the combination of the 2 is giving you crazy skin.

I had dry skin spotty skin rashy skin even it was kinda mad then it all settled down my face is sooooooooo clear now it only goes a bit nutso during that one lovely time of the month lol

Hm, I have not run into this yet and am about 90 lb down. Maybe it won't happen? I do also have to say I have always been a Water freak on a daily basis, have done several cleans in the past and also sit in my sauna about once a week. Even at my heaviest, I would drink water like there was no tomorrow. I suppose it is not a bad thing, but did wear out quite a few waitresses when I went out to eat with the family. :)

Lucky you! I am envious. I too have always drank water like a mad person, but 4 days out of the hospital I broke out like crazy and it is still happening. I am even broken out on my chest which is insane to me and driving me a little batty. :) I am hoping my body is just purging since I'm newly sleeved and this will stop soon. I told my hubby that I can't believe it is happening with as much water as I drink on a regular basis, but here I am. :(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
