I'm six months out and have only lost 50lbs. I'm so frustrated. I started at 230lbs and now bounce between 180-182. How can I get the weight to start coming off again?

Yowza!! 50 pounds down... that's awesome! That's about 72% towards your goal. You really can't be disappointed with those numbers, can you?

But if you are really frustrated with those last few pounds, go back to basics would be my suggestion. Still keeping a food journal? Getting all your protien and Water in? Maybe change up your exercising a bit.

But, I say you are doing great. Don't compare yourself with others, don't get discouraged, the stall will pick up again. Good luck

I'm 6 months out as well, and have only lost 42 lbs, but I have not given up, I keep pluggin' along doing what I'm supposed to do. I attribute my slow losing to being over 50. I get in my treadmill 4-5X a week, Protein and Water. I am strictly staying away from all white carbs. I know its frustrating, I feel your pain. Especially when others have lost soooo much. But, I keep reminding myself that I could have never lost this much without surgery. Slow is better than not at all. Has yours been slow, or completely stopped? I have only lost 2 lbs over the last 5 weeks.

Try Liquid Protein only for a week and jump start your system again.

50 pounds is a major accomplishment! Way to go! How many weeks have u gone without seeing the scale move? Are ur clothes fitting differently?

I exercise like crazy and am mindful about my cals. I hit stalls pretty often, but they usually break after the three week mark.

Keep plugging away and try not to compare urself to others. U really are doing great!

Thanks everyone, I have gotten a couple of good recommendations. I have been stalled for at least 6 weeks, so I think I will go back to the basic and see if I break it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
