scorpion509 107 Posted September 17, 2012 you sound exactly like me 4days post op. I even send email to my surgeon. and never get back from him) but what i can tell you. I am still don't fell when I am full ( already 9days post op) . I can drink around 5 oz per eating. I bought the special measuring bowl so I can manage how much I ate because I don't feel full. Today was the first day when I feel hungry. I drank Isopure hoping it would go away. it would a bit but still wouldn't mind to eat something. I will go for my 1week follow up on Tuesday and will ask all this questions.
LindaS 316 Posted September 17, 2012 You haven't stretched your stomach, but some of the swelling may have gone down to allow a bit more room. I remember feeling like that. It gets better.
KinnymomX3 144 Posted September 17, 2012 Start eating and drinking on a schedule. Sound like you're eating or drinking to fast. Your bites should be small and chew until its like mush before swallowing . Calm down and think through all this get out the handouts that you're surgeon and NUT gave you . Plan all your meals measure your foods and eat slow . It will get better take it slow!
2wistd1 2 Posted September 17, 2012 No your not i felt the same way. I evenasked the surgeon if she tookout enough. Fluids just roll through. They dont hold on like food once it gets there. Trust me you will know when you are full and it wont take much. I have already learned so much. I missed all the "good stuff". Which really wasnt good for you. But if you want it bad enough you will be able to eat the right things and succeed. I still crave things. But know i cant eat them. Im only 3 months out. And have lost 46 pounds. You will be fine. Been there. I understand.

ready4change77 88 Posted September 17, 2012 I'm feeling the same way somewhat, I'm so sick of liquids & ready to eat again to feel normal - I'm not exactly sure what full feels like either... I read so much stuff where it almost feels like I will never eat the things I loved so much before & a lot of those things were healthy... I to had a monent today where I was like did I make a mistake, should I have waited... I don't like this feeling of tightness going down my chest & maybe it's just still has but I hate it... I've had Tomato Soup, Water, very lil of my Protein shake, sugar free Popsicle & a lil Yoplait Greek 2x protien yogurt... Ik or @ least I hope it gets better.. Chicago1962 125 Posted September 17, 2012 I will never forget the day I was sure my surgeon had duped me! I thought "What if this is a scam and he really didn't take out 3/4 of my tummy like he promised?" Even now, at 3+ months post-op, when I eat popcorn or watermelon and I see the volume I can consume without pain it scares me. Do I drought that he removed 3/4 of my tummy? No - because I have gotten sick enough now to tell when I have had too much. The volume of food I eat now is probably 25% what I used to, if that much. But the process is so different than what I expected. So, so different. Try to relax and trust in your surgeon and his team. No point in even entertaining the idea that this was a mistake, because sister, your tummy is gone for good! (smile) So take it one day at a time and try to be gentle with yourself. It's a new time in your life. Keep talking about your feelings, and your fears, and TRUST in the decision you made and the journey you are on. YOU CAN DO IT!!!! 1 Shayyt reacted to this
kathyanne 3 Posted September 17, 2012 I have felt the same way too! Its hard to be excited and happy about anything when you're not feeling well. I am only 4 days post op and I have found that most fluids go right through and I don't feel full. I did make the mistake of drinking too much of my Protein Shake on day 2 and got sick and had to go to bed! Nothing makes me feel full yet, but I'm sure once I start to introduce solids I feel it. Try to measure your liquids and your other liquid foods so you don't take in too much at once. Small sips of liquid, small bites of food. Hang in there. In a few weeks you'll feel good again! ready4change77 88 Posted September 17, 2012 @newgrandmother & all that replied Ik this shall pass - I have to keep reminding myself that I just had surgery a few days ago & not months ago... I just wanna feel normal & yes I'm sure when solids come I will feel the full tight feeling & know my limit... Thanks for all te encouraging word - I'm gonna be off @ least a month from work so hopefully when I go back I will be in a better place w/ all this... I know I felt the same way at times. Wondering if I ate too much but I hadnt. Some days i eat more than others. Is there a particular reason you are feeling this way? You will lose weight. It takes time to extend your pouch
Readytolose2012 88 Posted September 17, 2012 At 4 day post op I was on Clear Liquids, at 7 days full liquids and I never felt full. Second week (currently) blended foods and I can only get 2 oz of blended food, plus my clear liquids and my Protein Shakes. I am getting 50-70 gram of Protein and 500-700 calories. Cookeeeeez 269 Posted September 17, 2012 kinny im on on solids its only been 4 days. its the liquids that i am able to get more in. thank you guys for posting and i am glad i am not the only one I think she means not on solids. Hey NGM, I'm terrified I'll stuff it all up some how. But when you're still on liquids I dont think you can do much wrong. The Fluid just slips into your belly and out again, that's why it's not filling you up, it's the same reason you were hungry pre-op diet! Just remember its still a journey! The weight won't come off in four days and you won't stretch you pouch in four days! Think looooooong haul!!!! Hang in there!!!
