Hi,

I'm taking a little trip state side this week...buffalo-amherst. And I need to know some good places to buy clothes...I'm not quite into the regular sizes yet (size 20). Any suggestions besides hitting Target and Walmart?

Any ideas would be most welcomed.:)

Dress Barn has some larger sizes and I love Catherines. If you can't find a store near you, you can shop online.

Thanks ..I checked out Avenue..and even found an online coupon...will have to check it out.

Also looked at the dress barn..I thought they only sold dresses..who knew.:nervous

Hopefully, will find some good deals, since I only plan on wearing them a short while till I get down to the next size.

Ever been to the outlets on Military Rd. Niagara Falls? Do you know if there are any plus stores in there?

I am also a shopaholic so I have a list! Since you're looking for something to wear a short while definately shop sales 'cause you'll probably be giving them away shortly. H&M in NYC has great clothes and nice prices, Old Navy goes up to a size 20, Torrid.com for funky wear, Zaftique.com......

Happy shopping!

Lots2Luv I forgot about Torrid, H&M and Old Navy But you reminded me about the Palisades Mall, they have several plus size stores and actually they had pretty good prices. I was surprised that I went to Palisades with one of my many "skinny" friends and she got annoyed because every thing she liked was only in Plus Sizes and so many of the "trendy" stores were for us Big Girls HAHAHAHAHA what a great feeling that was.

Man this is makin me wanna shop I gotta stop reading this board HAHA Thanks Swanny look you got us shopaholics thinking LOL I'm trying to hold out on shopping for awhile I feel like it keeps me motivated because Im dying to shop. But I dont wanna buy clothes that wont last long so what I did is last week I went shopping with my cousin and said I wouldnt buy anything but then I ended up in The Avenue and they had a great sale on this cute cami and panty sets so I had to get it but I bought it 2 sizes too small So I felt good buying something but knew I will have to lose alot more to wear it

HEY...Our old navy stores here don't go to size 20! No fair.

Thanks for the tips..I'm going to have to keep reminding myself these clothes won't be my size for long so I won't buy much. Also getting stoppped by Canada Customs is no fun either.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
