Mine did not allow anything that could not pass through a fine strainer for 3 weeks, in other words, liquids only. The reason is to allow the entire suture line heal & not risk a leak. Darkkyss 33 Posted September 16, 2012 It depends on your Dr. if you go to my gallery and look at my paperwork I scanned this is from my Dr. on what you can eat and when. Scrambled eggs I would say no not yet.......
DEZ1975 170 Posted September 16, 2012 Didn't your surgeon give you post op instructions for what to eat each week? My guess is you definitely can't have food yet. My surgeon is less conservative than some and here's what I had to do: Week 1 - Clear Liquids only: add Protein shake on day 7 Week 2 - full liquids - includes yogurt and strained low fat cream based Soup Week 3 - 4 - mushy or puréed food - no beef or raw veggies You are most at risk for a leak weeks 1-6. Follow your surgeons instructions exactly and don't push the diet. I encourage you to search "leaks" in the forum and read how horrible they are.
Ljp 157 Posted September 16, 2012 Can I have applesauce 4 days post op? I was also thinking about trying a scrambled egg for supper. My doctor allowed me to have yogurt, sugar free Jello & popcicles, broth & of course liquids for the 1st two-3 weeks then I added in things I cld tolerate. I thk I did apple sauce around week 3 or 4.
