Chezaraeh 8 Posted September 16, 2012 I am into my 2nd week of my pre-op diet as of yesterday. My surgeon has me on 50g carbs a day and a high Protein diet. For over a week now I have cut out soft drinks, bread, Pasta, rice, potatoes, and cereals. A few days ago, after walking up the ramp to my house I had a hard chest pain in the center of my chest and hurt to breathe. It only last about a minute and it stopped once I bent over against the counter and rested. It happened again yesterday walking up the ramp and again in the shower this morning. Is this normal? It might be because of the heat too, I live in Texas and it was hot on both of those days...hot and humid, just like being in the shower. Did anyone else have this problem? Is it the diet I am on? Anything I can do to fix it?

COsleeveDude 273 Posted September 16, 2012 Tell your doctor about it ASAP. If the doctor doesn't mention it you might want to think about a stress test before surgery.
Chezaraeh 8 Posted September 16, 2012 My gall bladder was removed about 5 years ago
Cinders 56 Posted September 16, 2012 Sounds like we are on the same pre-op diet, only mine is 30-40 carbs. While I haven't had chest pains, I have gotten leg cramps & dizzy spells. Hopefully you are right & it is just that godd ol Texas heat but please check with your Dr asap as you don't want anything to come up prior to your surgery
