Fiddleman 4,376 Posted September 16, 2012 Honestly, after 2 months post op I still really enjoy having the nectar and matrix brand of shakes. I do not care too much for the fruit flavors (one of those post op taste changes), but the "sweet" flavors, such as vanilla bean, chocolate and Oreo, are very good. Usually I have a shake made with soy and green powder mix for Breakfast ( not as bad as it sounds; you get used to it), a shake mixed with Water for 3 pm and a shake mixed with water at bed. My total Protein intake ends up being around 125 gram a day if I do not miss any of the 6 meals(approximately every 3 hours). Sometimes it is more around 100 grams because I miss a snack or am unable to eat something with about 25 gram protein for a main meal. I do not eat much else besides the Proteins, sometimes some veggies if I have room. The protein at night is important because it keeps the metabolism going into the night. I usually have extended release protein because it will give me up to 5 hours of food for metabolism. Always eat a good source of protein for breakfast, right when you get up. All this protein really helps drop the lbs with a relatively easy exercise program ( walking up to an hour a day) I was planning on starting weight training this last week, but had a nasty cold ( today I think is the last of it). Another bonus from the high protein, low carb and low fat diet is the body is really shaping up ( in 38 size pants that are getting lose where pre op I was struggling in a 46 size). No hanging skin anywhere too. I am down almost 90 lb in 10 weeks - about 70 lb to go. Sometimes i will lose 3-4 lb a day, but average is about 1 lb a day. And there have been stalls: 3 so far. The best thing to do with a stall is just to keep on program and wait it out. There is no need to give a stall any headspace because it will end no matter what. You may break it with something extreme, but usually this will not be the case. Your body will be more cooperative with you if you keep stress low and sleep enough. Sorry if i am rambling on. Good luck. 3 Need-a-Sleeve, IrishEyes and Tameka reacted to this

I started at 224 and down to 205. I try not to stress it but I fear when I start reg foods, I'm going to gain more. It's happened at every stage and weight loss goes slower. It can be frustrating, that's all. I know, patience, right?
doxieville 799 Posted September 16, 2012 Seeleesofme; Just an FYI, because everyone is different! My weight started to come off when I began eating. I lost very little when I was on liquids and I'm sure it was because my body went 'here she goes again with this starvation diet! Gotta hold on to my fat 'cause she's gonna starve me!'. LOL!!! Again, everyone is different! To me, ANY weight loss is a victory. I don't care how slowly it goes. Good luck! 1 Need-a-Sleeve reacted to this

BuT I will keep doing what's am and eventually it will come off. I know I can only eat so much and must let my new stomach/sleeve do its job.

sassypants 674 Posted September 16, 2012 I suggest trying fish first it was the easiest thing for me to eat but maybe not tuna that was not nice for me and only just now what 3 and half months later was tuna not so painful and pukey lol Fish seems to go down well so I hope you like it lol For about a month I lived off fish! As for bread sigh how I love they wish I could eat they! There are currently 2 of the softest white rolls in the kitchen I squeezed them a few times and that was it lol Soup was made for Fridays dinner so sis and mum brought in bread for it and my bro got rolls. 1 seelessofme reacted to this
