Cloe,

Ya know I think I just needed a kick in the pants. I went to the gym today for a swim with the kids - my bathing suit almost fell off in the Water - now that would have been a sight!! Ha! Thanks for reminding me how successful 2006 was compared to last Christmas!!

Here's to you fulfilling your goals too!

Sounds like an excellent NSV to me, Angel Bear. I love the idea of your bathing suit being in free fall.:omg: Teehee.

Here is my latest NSV: I went to the dentist today and got loads of compliments on my skinnier self.:) And my jeans which used to be too tight really are very baggy.

I have a new NSV to report. For some time now my size 16W jeans have been getting kinda baggy on me. These were jeans that I was unable to fit into at the time of my lapband operation last September even when I was lying down before trying to do up the zipper. :D

Today I did a massive shopping freak out after months of wearing very baggy clothes. I bought a skirt and a pair of pants in size medium :Banane44: at a normo store and I bought two pairs of skinny jeans - size 16 - at the Gap. :woot: I did not have to lie down in order to do up any of these clothes!!! :faint: And I think that the kid at the Gap wanted me to buy the size 14 jeans (but I was afraid).:)

Thank you my friends. I have to admit that I was very afraid to even enter the Gap because a) it is a normo store and  their saleshelp are skinny teenagers. It was only after my size 16W jeans had been baggy on me for quite awhile that I to get up the courage for this stunt.

The other store was easier. It sells a lot of loose-cut baggy linen pants and skirts. It was neat going down from their large to their medium, though.

I still wear size huge in tops and probably always will. I have broad shoulders and I don't like my shirts to be clingy or fitted.

My new NSV... my goodness how lucky I have been. It was a wonderful morning today and I ran. I ran 4 km (I walk occassionally) and it felt good. That and my size 16 + jeans are my current thrill. I am trying to train for a 5 km... some times I am just amazed at how well this has worked!!!

you guys are all great!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
