tamjo 4 Posted September 15, 2012 My husband and I are both post op, his was on 8-27 and mine on 9-10. Just wondering how much walking people are doing since surgery as we have to wait 6 weeks before our dr will let us get in the gym.
marsha73 2 Posted September 15, 2012 I walk 30 minutes on the treadmill daily. I had my sleeve on 8/20. You can walk just no lifting weights til your surgeon says ok. In fact they want you to walk to prevent blood clots....good luck to you and your husband
fluffylibra30 323 Posted September 15, 2012 I just walked until I was tired or it started hurting. It's a great idea to start walking as soon as your able, but also you don't want to overdue it due to injury. As long as your feeling good, I would just keep on going. Your body will let you know. CNTWT2BMINIME 78 Posted September 15, 2012 I walk as much as I'm able. Some days I get really tired quickly so I don't push it....but it's getting easier and better each day.

BigFatLoser 331 Posted September 15, 2012 I haven't had my surgery yet, but I just wanted to say how great I think it is that you and your husband get to do this together. And that you get to live healthy lives together. Yay!!! 3 tamjo, Susie in Lima and LessofKelly reacted to this
Squisha 99 Posted September 15, 2012 Early out i didn't keep track of how much i walked. I had surgery on a Wednesday and on Monday when most of my family went back to work my Grandma started coming over everyday and walking with me or taking me shopping with her since i couldn't drive. The first few days grandma would out walk me and i would have to sit and rest, now i am up to 1.25-1.5 miles at 6 months out. Try to walk every other day and weights on the alternating days. Yay!!![/quote'] @ Bigfatloser, it was a tough decision to make to finally decide to have wls but once we made it the only way it was going to work for us was to do it together. And so far so good. Good luck with yours and thanks for the comment
