doxieville 799 Posted September 15, 2012 Yes, you can have it. Just make sure the codeine doesn't constipate you. We are given Loratab in the hospital and that codiene. Feel better!
ebthompson2010 126 Posted September 15, 2012 Ok because my sleeve is feeling sore. I'm thinking it's from coughing so much but I wanted to make sure it wasn't from the codeine.
CNTWT2BMINIME 78 Posted September 15, 2012 My doctor prescribed me Tylenol with codeine to take home with me from the hospital. Safe but could upset your stomach if taken without food. And there's the Constipation thing.
LouiseC 1,031 Posted September 15, 2012 I was given codeine in the hospital and for post surgery pain management when I got home. Only thing to watch for is Constipation.< /p>
ebthompson2010 126 Posted September 15, 2012 I am in the ER with severe abdominal pains. I will let you all know what's going on when I know for sure.
billyvmom 128 Posted September 15, 2012 Oh no! Prayers for you! Codeine should be fine but, watch out for Constipation. Make sure they call your surgeon so they can properly treat you.
ebthompson2010 126 Posted September 15, 2012 So I went to the ER and they gave me a gastric cocktail whatever that is and sent me home. I have had the flu for 3 days now and am miserable. I am still in so much pain. I live in a small town with a small hospital and they don't even have an ultrasound machine. So they told me that it's just a bug. But I've never had pain like this with a bug. Could I have a leak at 6 wks out?? What are the symptoms? Could it be y gallbladder? I'm going to call my surgeon in the am but I guess I'm just going to suffer til then.
doxieville 799 Posted September 15, 2012 Whoa. A lot can change overnite!! DON'T wait to call your surgeon. They should have someone on call 24/7! It's part of the package of being a doctor!! Who knows what you've got! Could be sore muscles from coughing, gallbladder, a tear, a leak....THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW IS TO CALL YOUR SURGEON. NOW. :-) We yell because we care. We are all in this together.
