It really depends on what your doctors preferences are. As you may hv noticed on here that some doctors okay some things while others don't approve. It doesnt mean one is right the other is wrong & visa versa. Also everyone on here tolerates things differently.

Having said that, are you able to tolerate that at 3wks? I also dont thk at 3wks it wld be good to eat the crust. Just my opinion.

Everyone tolerates things at diff stages. My surgery was July 16th & I do very good with meat, any kind but starchy & Pasta not so good at all. We are all diff.

Good luck!

I know for me it took me a long while to eat chicken again. It just tasted really gritty to me or something and also gve me heartburn for some reason. But as for the crust, I was not allowed any bread for 12 weeks. Swells too much in your sleeve and it takes at least 12 weeks to heal the staple line.

Its so strange how everyone is different. Im having to make myself eat Protein & I do, but I hv never been a big meat eater. I like it, just never wanted a lot of it & now thats what my pouch tolerates better than anything. I know some tht hv a hard time with meat.< /p>

I eat chicken pot pie that my wife makes. It is a cooking light recipe that is actually very healthy and yummy. The only difference now is I do not eat the crust and only eat about 3 oz. it has a lot of Protein in it from the chicken. Yummy!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
