What to do with too big clothes?

Recommended Posts

I also say give them away (or throw them out).

But I would also suggest keeping one pair of pants/ skirt etc and I shirt- preferably the biggest that you used to have to wear.

If you find yourself stumbling or getting a little down, it can be a real boost to put them on and see them hanging off you :)

I am a new band and have lost 10lbs. Can't wait to get rid of my big clothes. I too am scared the weight will come back... Went for 1st check up yesterday and am getting a fill the first week of Oct. I am now getting hungry and still have several days of liquid left. I am trying to drink more water.... BrendaB

I really second the idea of giving to a women's shelter. I just retired after working for a shelter for the past 7 years. My heart just broke for the large women who couldn't find anything to fit them. The professional/working clothes are great for women who are job-hunting, but many need every-day COMFORTABLE clothes, especially warm ones.

Yes, it is definitely an ongoing issue. For every 10-15 lbs down now it is a new size in clothing. I made $300+ on my garage sale, but I was selling from 22W down to 16W....and advertised it as plus sized career clothes. Ironically the casual denim capris and such went fast, then the nicer Dillards and Saks workworthy stuff last. The remaining stuff I donated to a local church and they gave me a reciept for taxes. I like the idea of giving it to a nursing home too......

My lapband/gastic bypass support group has a quartely clothing swap. I have saved up two huge bags which I will take and lay out for anyone who wants them to take. I am hoping I can find some stuff for the next few sizes as well. when I heard this I was so psyched what a great way to recycle old clothes.

It still boggles my mind that

I WILL NEVER WEAR THOSE CLOTHES AGAIN!

And God knows, there's nothing among them that I liked!

Our support group has a clothing exchange twice a year. We have a bunch of tables with sizes and everyone brings in what they have and puts them on the tables.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
