Last night was day 6 and I was comfortable on either side.

I've been lucky so far in that I've had a zero complication recovery. The last time I took pain meds was Sunday night, two days after surgery. I've not even needed Tylenol.

I've been good to go since day 3.

Wow...my surgery was Sept 6th, and I can barely lean to one side, let alone roll onto a side. The only thing i'm managing to do is open the binder off when sitting. I have it completely off right now for the first time, to get air to the wounds, and try and stop the skin irritiation on the stretch marks. Other than that, it's sit on desk chair, or recliner padded with pillows.

Might depend on the type of sutures your dr uses, my incisions aren't open so I think that makes it easier

I was sleeved on 9/5 and I still can't sleep on my belly or my side. I've tried on my side and its very uncomfortable; haven't tried on my belly and have no intention of doing so for a while. I'm also uncomfortable sleeping on my back so I completely understand how you feel.

I am as well side/stomach sleeper :) I was able to sleep on right side from day 4 and on the left one only since last night, but what I did. How I started: I take king size pillow and put it behind my back, so when I am laying on it so it like you are laying on the back but because of the pillow it is more like on the side.

and yesterday I was able to put it on the side of my stomach and hug it., ( like I used to sleep with pregnancy pillow) so your stomach is laying on the pillow and you are on your side.

Yesterday was the first night when I was able to sleep through the night for 5 hours. all previous nights I was sleeping for 3 hours and after need to walk for an hour and sleep again.

These posts make me feel really lucky! I could sleep on either side day 2 in the hospital and on my stomach a few days later. I really feel for those who can't. I would've been miserable on my back. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
