Craving2BaHealthyMommy 7 Posted September 14, 2012 I have a question, I have not had insurance in about 2 1/2 years, I will be getting insurance in Jan 2013, I was wondering if surgery was covered right away after all the requirements are meet for if you have to wait a certain amount of time, before they will cover it? Thanks
Raven21 121 Posted September 14, 2012 Depends on the insurance company!
Craving2BaHealthyMommy 7 Posted September 14, 2012 I will have Humana KY state employee
geno5150 168 Posted September 14, 2012 It depends more on the plan itself than the insurance company. The best thing to do would be to call Humana and ask. it should also be listed in the plan's description if you have access to that. There will be a section that covers exclusions and limitations- any general waiting periods will be listed there.

valdostaGA 149 Posted September 16, 2012 I just got my insurance through my husban work in Jan 2012 I got approved after 1st try. It all depends on what's in your medical records. Most companies consider in Pre existing if u receive treatment or advice within 6 months before obtaining coverage. I was so scared about this because I was always advised by my provider to lose weight but it wasn't documented in his records. Therefore they couldn't say it was pre existing. All of this is according to my insurance BCBS AL. Do your own research to be sure, but this was my experience. Good luck!!
