TheNewSusie 471 Posted September 14, 2012 Like most of us, I drink crystal light for flavor but I've been doing research and I found that it can stall weight loss because of the aspartame and artificial sweeteners. I'm officially in a stall and while trying to break my stall I wondered if this was part of the reason. I know all the chemicals get blocked in your liver and that makes it hard for ur liver to function and so called cleanse out. Anybody have any other opinions? This got me worried because plain Water I don't mind but there r times I need something else.

geno5150 168 Posted September 14, 2012 There is zero evidence that artificial sweeteners do anything but possibly cause cancer in lab rats. There has only been one study on this pertaining to weight loss and it found no evidence it either increased or decreased the metabolic rate. This has been twisted in knots by a number of "health/naturalist" websites as evidence it impedes weight loss or metabolism, but that is simply not true. 1 ndeekill reacted to this

rosehips 121 Posted September 16, 2012 I am not thrilled about going into the sugar free world, some of it is necessary but.....for my Water consumption I use reconstituted lemon juice, only brand I like is Sunny Select from Savemart & some Stevia. I was paying way too much for Stevia at Whole Foods. Now I get it online at swansons, great price for "Better Stevia". Basically you need to figure out your own recipe. Mine is 32 oz. water, 1 shot glass of lemon and 4-5 drops of Stevia
