I'm getting my revision done the 1st week of October. I have confidence that I will lose, but once I'm at goal I'm scared I will regain and the whole thing will be pointless....this thought just keeps entering my mind and I can't shake it. I don't want to be a failure again like I was with my band...:(

I have not had this done, but from what I have read about the band, you did not fail at it, rather it failed you. I know people who have the band, and they can eat alot, to include sodas, I can only fit 1/8 to 1/3 cups of food in my belly. Good luck at the revision!

I was sleeved over a year ago. I lost 73 pounds and then hit a stall that lasted several months. I exercise and eat right, but I could do better getting my Water in.

When I was on vacation in August, I was very active and ate right. I ended up gaining 6 pounds (water weight). My ankle was swelling, and I was bloated.

Two weeks later, I've lost the 6 pounds and am finally down even more (another 2.6 pounds). The bloating incident got me back on the path to drinking my Water like I am supposed to be drinking it.

I can't eat like I did before, so I don't see how I can get back to my starting weight. It would be hard to do and painful. As long as I eat my Protein first, I have trouble eating anything else.

By getting a sleeve, following the. Rules-- you are putting yourself in line for success !!

To regain you would have to stretch, abuse your sleeve and WORK at it ! The sleeve like the band is a tool to enable you to stay on track.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
