post diet

Recommended Posts

someone please tell me that the post diet is better than this 2 week opifast program. I was told that I would not be hungery after getting banded on Oct 3rd. Maybe my nerves are getting to me about the date getting closer....:)

Personally, I found the pre-surgery diet a LOT harder then post surgery.

Some people are hungry after being banded, I'm lucky in that I haven't been yet. I just had a small bowl of clam chowder for lunch(my first meal in a resturant) and I'm feeling quite full.

But even if you are hungry until you get filled properly, eventually it will pass.

Depends on the surgeon!!! I was allowed 3 days clear only then thin liquids first week, thicker liquids the second week, including applesauce, yogurt, cottage cheese then I get to add mushies for the weeks 3-5. Tonight I stopped and got chicken and dumplings and put them in the food processor with chicken stock to make the consistency of applesauce. I have been ready for savory non sweet Protein sources. Ive had brocolli cheese, tomatoe basil, and potatoe with roast all blended to consistency of applesauce. sounds like a lot of high fat high carb but when you only get 3-4oz or so it doesnt add up that quick. The post op time is for healing. I will worry about weight loss later- however Ive not done bad their either. Thats why Im not stressing over the calories in such small portions.

So.... I hope you have a surgeon similar to mine!! Good Luck

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
