Angie was Sleeved 08/31/12 10 Posted September 13, 2012 Can anyone tell me the difference between wontons and Pasta. I have seen some very yummy recipes using wontons instead of pasta. Are they a form of bread?
flipflop 28 Posted September 13, 2012 Good question! I'm wondering too.
Marty McSkinnystein 342 Posted September 13, 2012 Apparently wonton wrappers are very thin (not like the thick ones used in wonton soup) and used to stuff whatever Protein in and cook it. You put the little wrapped mixture in cupcake tins and make it. I went searching and found out they have them at Whole Foods near me. The website "Emily Bites" has some recipes using them. nyxa 159 Posted September 13, 2012 they're made out of flour, salt, egg & Water. they don't have any yeast in them, so they don't puff up.. not bread.. they are like Pasta, but can be fried, baked, steamed, boiled or whatever.
Angie was Sleeved 08/31/12 10 Posted September 14, 2012 Then if they are Pasta why can't we eat pasta? I'm so confused!!
traceyc 89 Posted September 14, 2012 Then if they are Pasta why can't we eat Pasta? I'm so confused!! Just my thoughts here. The Protein to carb ratio in a wonton is typically more sleeve friendly. A thin wonton wrapper stuffed with Protein should fill you and you get a good amount of protein. A bowl of pasta is typically mostly carbs so you will fill up on that before you get in your protein requirements. 3 kryssaboo, nyxa and flipflop reacted to this

flipflop 28 Posted September 15, 2012 Tracey, I like your explanation...that really does make sense. So does the not having yeast. I'm off to find some wonton wrappers...
Randi 21 Posted September 27, 2012 There are a ton of things to make with these and they are really good!!! As far as making them in muffin pans, I would go with the regular muffin pan vs. the mini-muffin pan because then you will eat more of the Protein than the won tons.
