I was sleeved in June and have lost 50 lbs. Here recently my whole life turned upside down and have noticed old eating patterns come back. I don't eat that much well because I can't. Just a few bites here and there. I'm soooooo scared of gaining weight back. I'm not sure if its what I eat even if its not very much AT ALL.

Sorry to hear that your life has hit a bumpy patch in the road.

I have always found that it is these bumpy Patches that test my strength of character. It is easy to follow a healthy regime when all is well in my world. But when times are tough and I can still follow my regime? That is where it feels really good. That is the time when I know I am actually making the life changes necessary to see me healthy in my future.

let go of the fear by taking control. Choose wisely, actively and consciously. remember everything you put in your mouth is a choice you make and a choice that is within your power and control. Other things in your life may feel outside your control right now, but this doesn't mean you have to let your food choices enter that same space. You decide, every meal, every snack, every drink. It is up to you - know that you can do it. You have done it before and lost 50 pounds. 50 pounds! That is outstanding. You can do this.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
