Do Mexico Hotels Give Discounts For Extended Stay Surgery Patients?

Recommended Posts

Just curious-- I'm a long way from that point but I was just wondering. I would not want to travel quickly after a major plastic surgery such as breast lift/implant and arm skin removal. I would think you should stay 2 weeks?

I would think that your Dr's office could answer that question.. My surgeon shares his practice with a Plastic surgeon and they partner with the Marriott in Tijuana to provide lodging. I think a week would be good for anything other than a Tummy Tuck, lower body lift etc... I do know that the drains have to be in longer as well when you have plastics.... Good questions though....

Good Luck!

It depends on the doctor..One doctor in Monteray keeps you for 12 days - 2 in hospital and 10 in hotel. The doctor I am using keeps you 7 days all in the hospital. The hotels there are pretty cheap. The one in Monteray was a Hampton Inn and was only $65 a night. Most of the doctors put the cost into the cost of surgery. It is a package deal. I hope this helps!

This is for TT, Lipo, Breast lift and augmentation

I stayed five nights in the clinic and seven nights at the Hampton Inn. Dr. Sauceda included it in the cost of my surgery. The Hampton is now around $88 a night including tax. I just booked it for a friend.

I've been looking around and have found a couple of places. One in Costa Rica and the other in Dominican Republic. They advertise a "recovery house" hotel, with nurses, meals, etc.

I know I already responded to this. Hmmmm, well here goes again.

My coordinator told me if I wanted an extended stay my surgeon woul be willing to foot he bill for 1 extra night, after that she would arrange for me to get their discounted rate.

I stayed at he Lucerna, their posted nightly rate was $160 - $200/night, and I would have paid & $75/night with their discount.

The coordinator for Dr. Ponce told my friend the same thing. I booked the Lucerna myself for the same rate that the coordinator told us. Just google it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
