I only have dizzy spells if I go too long before my next meal....I'll get weak and light headed, and if I turn too fast I'll get dizzy

I was going to say: you're probably dehydrated and blood pressure bottoms out when you stand from lack of Fluid in the blood... I'm having the same today...Trying to drink more water...Not urinating much either so i'm pretty sure it's dehydration...

Are you getting in enough Water? I had dizzy spells too - it was because of dehydration and sometimes low blood sugar. I used to carry a small zip-lock bag with powdered sugar with me when I go out, if I know I'm going to be out for a while without eating anything.

This is called hypotention...its where your blood pressure is lower than what the body is used to. This happened early in my Sleeve experience, especially after I worked out and sat in my recliner for a spell. After a few months it stopped. Its just going on as your body is going through its major adjustments in the beginning

I had the same issue. I ended up passing out and hitting my head which resulted in 10 staples. Needless to say it was not pleasant. My blood pressure was low by the time I was seen in the ER (5 hours later) but that's normal for me. I believe it was dehydration, as soon as I got the IV fluids I felt like a million bucks. I am so diligent about getting enough Water now.

Orthostatic hypotension , due to dehydration , can you tolerate Gatorade or sugar free Gatorade ? If you can this may help or maybe some broth ? You need more Fluid but you also need the sodium to retain the fluid and raise your bp

Thanks everyone for responding. I am probably not getting enough Water in. It is so hard for me to get my Protein in everyday and after I get that in I dont want anything. I am going to try to push water today in somewhere in between.

Im goin through the same thing. Had labs drawn. Only thing off was my thyroid. I dont know if that has anything to do with dizziness. So i guess we will see what happens.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
