Who Loses More Wt. Faster - Apples Or Pears?

Recommended Posts

Okay, I haven't been sleeved yet, but I have a question: Who seems to have the best success with the sleeve "weight-loss wise" - those who are apple-shaped (most fat is in the mid to upper body, e.g., belly or stomach region, arms, back), or those who are pear-shaped (lower half of body has the most fat, through butt, hips, thighs and calf region)?

Which of those shapes loses the fastest and shows significant progress quicker? And which one gets to goal faster?

I don't think the weight loss depends on shape.. Everyone is different. It's more going to depend on activity level, metabolism how much you have to lose, and possibly age.

I was sleeved on 8/9 and have lost 35 lbs... Someone else on here was sleeved the same day and had already lost over 50 lbs last week.

There may be a difference on how your shape is affected but in my opinion shape really has nothing to do with how quickly or slowly you loose.

I like to think I am a pearple (pronounced purple) - I am a cross between a pear and an apple. I am just fat all over! :)

Looking forward to surgery in October so I can get on that loser's bench!
