Consultation In Order To Get Approved For Loan? Seems Shady.

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I've already been sleeved (June 1st), which was covered by my insurance 100% and was done here in the states, but now my best friend wants to get it done but will be self pay since she has no insurance. Anyway, apparently the gentleman (for Dr. Garcia in Mex) she has been speaking to regarding the loan says that she was approved for 3700. He also says that she can be approved for 5000 but she would need to get a consultation from a Dr here in the states stating THAT Dr would be doing the surgery, they (the ppl in Mexico) would then submit that ppwrk to get the loan approved. ? Meaning the loan wouldn't get approved if it was for a Dr. in Mexico? Does this sound right? She is wanting the higher loan because of traveling expenses and hotel fee and any other unexpected things that may arise. Can you guys tell me if this sounds right?

Hope how I worded this all makes sense. =/

that is called loan fraud and no doctor worth his salt would sign that document. this is why the mexico thing bugs me. there is zero question here, loan fraud clear and simple. domt deal with this butcher.

Omg, thank you. See I have no idea how this stuff works. Maybe this is where the self pay can help me out a bit. She wants to get a loan to make payments on, and wants a good Dr in Mex. Can someone tell me how the whole process works over there and how she would be able to get a loan and set up surgery with one of the good drs you all speak about?

If your friend needs to get financing, have her check out the patient facilitator service called Belite Weight. The have in house financing with $2500 to $3500 down and then $200 a month after that. Their main doctor in Mexico is extremely reputable, Dr. Jose Rodriguez and he performs surgeries in Juarez and Tijuana. The owner of Belite Weight is also a previous patient and the majority of the facilitators are patients. They are extremely helpful and will take care of everything! I am using them and a lot of people I have met through forums have used them and I will be leave in a week and a half for my sleeve with Dr. Rod in Mexico.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
