hungry girl has fettuccine alfredo made with that cheese. it's not how you would think. she uses "noodles" called Shirataki noodles. they're made out of tofu & they don't swell up in your stomach. here's the recipe:

http://www.hungry-gi...letters/raw/249

the shirataki noodles come in different varieties.. they have clear ones, for asian dishes.. as well as the ones made from tofu, which come in fettuccine, angel hair, spaghetti, macaroni, etc.. they're low carb, don't swell up when you eat them (they're packed in water) & they're low calorie & full of Protein. :) you could make chicken noodle Soup, with some chicken broth & slap the noodles in there.. you could make macaroni & cheese.. you could have some spaghetti with blended meat sauce.. you could have shirataki Pasta & pesto.. etc. :)

more info on the noodles: http://lowcarbdiets....atakinoodle.htm

here's a video:

in that, she added some cream cheese, but on the recipe it didn't list it... so up to you to add it or not. lol :)

I ate them plain in the mushy phase too! I also eat the baby bell ones. Those are my fave and got me threw the first 3 months of the post-op phase. Still eat one every single day for Breakfast. (6 grams of protein) Also I used to spread a little on some turkey lunch meat and roll it up in a pickle. I did that maybe after 6 weeks,

I eat them with Melba Snacks. They are little melba toast crackers...they disolve very easily :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
