Plantar Fascitis

YESYESYES!!!! It might go away! Mine did.....my 'AHA' moment was exactly one year ago this month when I was in Amsterdam (where you walk everywhere and the women are stunningly beautiful). I was over 200 lbs, I had PF (had to ice my feet every night) then my hip went out, my knees went out and my husband flipped OUT wondering how he ended up with the fattest, limping woman in Holland! One month later, on Oct 25 I was sleeved in Germany. Today I have no feet or knee pain (some arthritis in my hip) and I just hit my goal weight this week. So so happy I did this!!!!! I write about it each Sunday so if you want some inspiration, please visit my blog; I am happy to say I am a success story! A year ago I was a MESS!!!!

I might need some Fit Flop boots his winter! Do you use for you heels? Any kind of 'heel cushion'?

I can't wait till this PF pain is over.

I had PF severely. It totally sucked! I went to my pcp for the problem. Now' date=' this sounds bizarre, and guess it is, but he told me to get athletic tape and place it the length of my arch. I also wrapped a piece around my foot to keep it in place. IT WORKED! I was sceptical, but really willing to try anything at that point. He said he did not know why, but that was the most effective way he found of treating PF. I also lost about ten lbs at the same time, so I'm sure that was a factor. I did that for about a month and you know it never did come back.

Good luck![/quote']

It works!!!!

Okay! I'm going to get the gels, are they ....full sized, like shaped like a foot? Or are they smaller just for your heels?

I think I have medical tape. I'm gonna try that!!

I use the full size for the extra arch support. They do have just heel cushions.

I just got some KT Tape and followed the directions on their website for taping for Plantar Fasciitis.....wow. I can't believe how much better my feet felt today. They were still painful, but not so horrible that I had to hobble around. I was able to grocery shop without having to stop! This morning, I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom without holding on to anything for support. Thank you for this tip!

I also ordered some MBT shoes; and getting some gel heel inserts are next on the list!

So...medical tape on my arch from the start of it to the end. And then another piece around? Do you put it on tight?

I wouldn't put the piece around your foot too tight, but I always did it snug. I havnt had any pf issues in years and I did that for about a month. I don't know why it works, but it does!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
