Just wanted to say hello there and introduce myself. I am a mother of 2 children and work full time and have been married for 12 years. My husband is very supportive of this procedure. Right now I seem to only think about what my next meal will be or relax on my days off since I am so tired during the day. I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. I want to be very active and be able to take long bike rides with the kids. I just want to be able to keep up with the family when we are walking. But I do have lots of questions? What happens if I go through all the appointment's and then insurance denies me? Do I finance this or give up. My hopes are so high now and I would hate to fail again. Another question is how have family members reacted or co workers? Do you really not feel hungry anymore? It sounds to good to be true. How is the transition from being overweight to active and then dealing with real feelings now since I wouldn't be able to eat my feelings. Sorry for the rambling. I also have lots of anxiety now. On Friday I go to my Dr for the letter of recommendation. Has anyone's doctor ever said no?

I find it hard to not talk about it. But I guess they will find out soon enough.

I was denied by Aetna last week after getting all of my clearances. I went to my Drs. for a letters of recommendation and they were all happy to help. They have been went me for years and want me to have wls as much as I do. I have been with my wife for 28 years and she is more than supportive. She has been with me through my weight swings. Should your insurance company deny your once, work with the insurance specialist at the surgeon's office to help you through the process. Should they deny you for a silly reason as they did for me, comply with the requests and try again. I am hoping to have my surgery late October.

I have found the people on this forum very supportive and willing to share their respective experiences good or bad. This forum helped me to decide that I was going to go with the sleeve rather than the LapBand.

Good luck to you on your journey.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
