Hungry 2Hrs After I Eat....

Recommended Posts

I am about 3 weeks post op. I try and eat just 3 meals a day (as suggested by my surgeon) .....but I feel really hungry after about 2 hours. I can only have 2 or 3 bites and im full. Is this normal?

It's normal for me & from what I've read it's common. Damn well annoying though, I spent 10k getting this done with the expectation of never feeling hungry again......how wrong I was!!!!!

You might try taking something for acid. I take omeprazole and the helps with not feeling hungry. I also increase my Water intake too. Sometimes I confuse thrist for hunger. Just food for thought. :)

very normal you will be able to eat more as the swelling goes down after you are done healing. I am 6 months out and I can eat 1/2 a BLT, one hard shell taco, one whole yogurt container, one small fish fillet...

This is happening to me, too. Began at 3 wks out (I'm now 6 wks out).

I talked to my Dr's NP about it (She had the sleeve last year). She asked me about my Fluid and Protein intake. My Fluid was fine, but Protein was not (I had stopped Protein shakes b/c they repulsed me).

She said I need to get 60g of Protein DAILY, and that the only way to do that immediately was with supplements. She said to do my best to get my protein in and see how it works.

I'm still not drinking a lot of shakes, but I am eating more and trying to eat Salmon, Shrimp, and other meats that are higher in protein first. When I do this I feel better, although I still get hungry from time to time. Thankfully, it doesn't take much to fill up!

Hope this helps, and good luck!!

My NUT said that during the puréed and soft food stage I can eat around every 3 hours bc I won't get enough Protein to keep me full to only do 3 meals a day. Obviously everyone is different, but maybe you should ask them if this rule applies to you to. Good luck!

I am 10 months out & I eat 5-6 times a day... 3 meals & 2 or 3 snacks... You just have to watch what you eat & always eat Proteins first. Drink a lot of fluids (especially water). And walk, walk, walk... :D

Just curious..aren't we supposed to eat every 2-3 hours regardless if we are sleeved or not? I really think all the diet pros recommend that, don't they? Or am I dreaming? Which wouldn't be the first time when it comes to food!! Lol.

When i was 1 month out, i had hunger pangs every 2 hours! My nut said it was ok to eat every 2 hours since my meals were wee small and I got full quick anyways (2-3 bites of something). That stage does pass!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
