Omg Omg Omg Omg Omg Omg - I Got A Date!

Recommended Posts

I am still breathless with excitement...and fear. Oct 22 I am getting sleeved! It kinda sucks that it is the day after my birthday, so clearly no food or alcohol based celebrations... but clearly, food and alcohol based celebrations are WHY I am 100lbs overweight, right?

I keep - literally - pinching myself to see if this long wait is almost over. I started the program at Kaiser Permanente in November of 2011. And now I have a date. Wow. I am almost giddy.

We share a birthday!!! I will be sleeved by then, so ni food or alcohol based celebrations for me either. Congrats on getting a date. It's exciting to know that the day after your birthday you are starting a new life. You will in a sense be reborn!

Do you have a World Market near you? They sell them there too. They are pretty good.

If you put a Protein Shake in a blender with lots of ice, can it turn into a coolata or frosty like drink? Anyone try this?

That is my favorite way to drink them.

I am having it at Holy Cross Hosp in Maryland. I have been trying various Protein Shakes and drinks on and off for the last six months, and honestly? I don't care for any of them! That two weeks is gonna be HARD!

Well hold tight because you will be drinking Protein shakes for quite a while after your surgery. Make sure you find some you like.........................

The sugar free Torani flavored syrups are life savers for me! I make a Peanut Butter banana Protein Shake with the PB2 & banana Syrup which I LOVE, yesterday I made a choc English toffee shake which was good & today a raspberry/strawberry shake with a small splash of pineapple & cherry syrups. It's fun experimenting with flavors! And I don't taste the "whey" in them :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
