ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted September 17, 2012 Have you ever seen the 30 Rock episode where to get Lutz a date they change the size stickers at clothing stores?! Size doesn't matter it really is true in this case i am visiting my mom next month, she hasn't seen me since WLS - she knows my weight loss - she'll see me, be happy, my mom sees me she'll ask my size, its medium, she'll be very happy - but if i told her it was a large, she wouldn't be that happy - go figure its the psychological thing about a number - whether it be clothes or the scale Linds324 - you will see the effects of your hard work - others see it - but your reflection in the mirror - looks the same to you - you see it every day-you'll eventually notice the difference continued good luck - you are doing great my friend
Catracks 865 Posted September 27, 2012 The range between sizes 18 and above can be many inches and many pounds. As you get into the single digits or even size 12 and below, the difference between sizes can be as little as 10 pounds or less.
hawkihoops 20 Posted September 28, 2012 definitely one of those things geared to mess with our heads. It is totally normal to want to see visual evidence and validation of all your hard work. Keep hanging in. You will get there and this will be but a bump on the road.
Heatherr 149 Posted October 7, 2012 We women are so hard on ourselves. As others have said, as you get into smaller sizes, they'll go by faster. And I sooo get teh psychology of it all. I typically wear a medium in tops, but I have 36DD breasts, so if I shop in juniors or a teen store like Hollister or Abercrombie, I may need an XL. It used to play a game with my head, but i got over it a few weeks ago because I just like those clothes sometimes. It's not the size but how sexy I look in it. <----- own that statement.
