everlag 18 Posted September 11, 2012 Thanks missminnie....im getting so nervous. Did you travel alone?
SylviaMom 83 Posted September 11, 2012 I was done there for a band removal in June and wii be there for my sleeve in December. I went alone and so did another gal. It's safe, comfortable and about the best experience you can imagine for abdominal surgery. Dr. A and Dr. Campos are great. 1 everlag reacted to this
MissMinnie 5 Posted September 11, 2012 No my husband went with me but I could have done it alone. I flew from FL. My only suggestion would be to bring a snack of some kind so after your blood work is done you can eat something. I got a headache since I was up early traveling and you can't eat anything until ou have your test. Dr Aceves is really good and so are his entire team. I hope you have an unevevntful surgery and recovery like I did. I was very scared too but it is well worth it. 1 amykins reacted to this

Frza 194 Posted September 11, 2012 Honestly, I feel great. The first couple of days were tough but they really baby you in the hospital. I hear about other sleevers getting surgery and being discharged the next day. I am so glad I had the extra days to relax and heal in the hospital. Went back to work today and all was well. amykins 202 Posted September 11, 2012 I had surgery on 8/31 with Frza. Dr Aceves and his staff are incredible. I was pretty nervous but they were so nice and friendly it really calmed me down. I went by myself but met Frza on this board and she helped a lot. If she hadn't been there, I know I would have been fine. They were just outside my door and came in seconds when I buzzed them, There were several other people in different stages of recovery. I was really glad to stay in the hospital and my hospital bed for my recovery. Ernesto picks you up at the baggage claim and Carla greets you at the door when you arrive at the hospital. I had no pain and went back to work 5 days after surgery with no problems. My scars are so tiny and neat. Excellent experience. 1 everlag reacted to this
Frza 194 Posted September 11, 2012 Good point Amy! Even if you go alone it's likely you make friend's there. I really enjoyed the camaraderie amongst the patients. Work was fine today. I feel real ly good! 2 everlag and amykins reacted to this
amykins 202 Posted September 11, 2012 Glad to hear you're doing good. Just take it slow. I keep having problems where I feel so good I start doing too much activity and wear myself out. No pain or anything, just whupped. It's hard, I feel almost back to normal, but my body reminds me every now and then that it's still recovering.
