Hi, I'm new to the forum, I was banded on July 13th of this year. I've lost 53 lbs so far. Woo hoo! :clap2: I started at 496 lbs. Dr. Stephen Malley did my surgery and I've been really happy with him and his office staff. I have a myspace blog that I'm trying to chart my progress on. http://www.myspace.com/brandywittbrod

Hi there! I was just banded yesterday!!! 9-20-06. I am so excited. I lost 16 pounds before the surgery on the Medifast drinks. I have been this little since my pregnancy about 6 years ago. I was really getting up there in weight. I started losing weight last year and lost 41 pounds and now I am down another 16. That makes me feels so good. I didn't know my face could get skinny and pretty again. LOL.

My doctor was Dr. Robert Michaelson. I am still trying to figure out how to put in one of the tracking devices. I would love to share that with you too. If anybody can point me in the right direction on how to add one. I would appreciate it.

I just wanted to jump in and say hi and welcome to LBT to both of you. Feel free to ask questions whenever you need, as we are all here to support one another.

Also, check out the stickies at the top of the forums, as they are filled with a wealth of information that I am sure you will find very helpful.

Hey Erin,

Go to www.tickerfactory.com and click on weight loss and pick out which one you want and then you will copy it and then go to user cp and go to edit signature and paste it there. PM me if you have any problems.

Congrats Brandy,

I had surgery on the 10th of July and I've only lost 40 pounds and ate like a freaking horse today. I'm scheduled for my 3rd fill on Tuesday. I hope I have great restriction after that. What size band do you have and how much fill? Just curious. Good luck and keep up the great work.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
