Did Anyone By A New Article Of Clothing Pre-Surgery?

If so, what?

I bought a size 14 pair of Levi's. I have everything in my closet from 16-22. So I went one size down, plus I got a good deal with my Kohl's cash.

Not me (sorry to lurk into the Ladies' room). At the moment, though, I'm enjoying working backwards through clothes. I've lost 22 lbs since surgery and am currently in clothes from many years ago. Optimistically, I never threw them out.

I think most of us hold on to our old clothes. 14 signifies a size for me that I have never been in my adult life. So I treated myself....I don't even have a date yet :D

I LOVE your optimism...that is fantastic! I need to get a wedding dress ;) ... but I'm waiting until my surgery is actually scheduled so I can gauge it... I've got it picked out tho... just haven't made the purchase

As a man, I'm not afraid to say that I can't wait to go clothes shopping in a normal store again. For the past few years clothes shopping for me has been about covering my fat and buying anything that doesn't look terrible. To be able to again wear something because I like the way it looks will be wonderful.

I have many sizes in my closet so I'm enjoying wearing things I liked so well but, um....outgrew. BUT pre-op I did buy a size 6 dress to wear to my 40th high school reunion next year. Optimistic? Yeah, but also determined!!! :D

That's what I am talking about! I think I will have more of your optimism after the surgery. So much so my hubs may have to take my credit card!

Well....I had a planned trip to Israel in April. I had purchased a number of new blouses, specifically for this trip, prior to my deciding to look seriously into WLS. The week after I returned from Israel I had my first visit with the surgeon. 6 weeks later I was in surgery. 3 months after that and I have a completely new wardrobe hanging in my closet! LOL Those new blouses were packed up 2 months ago! I never thought my weight loss (and change in sizes) would be so fast!!! Now I'm wearing baggy 20s (pants)...holding out until I can fit into 16's before I buy new again! :)

No, but I had a few pieces I had saved....forever it seemed. I dropped sizes so quickly I am glad I didnt buy anything. I am already hating having to get rid of clothes I have had for 2 months. I went from a size 20 pant 2-3x shirts to 10, sometimes 8 pants and L, sometimes M shirts. I have been shopping at thrift stores, much cheaper and I dont feel so bad when it doesnt fit anymore! I can tell you it is fantastic to be able to shop anywhere now, not the plus size stores.

Yeah, I can't wait to say bye bye to LB.

That card is gonna be burnt! I am paying it off and I will not be using again.

I moved in sizes so quickly that I still have everything too... Before my surgery I went through and labeled totes "16" "14" "10/12" etc and they're all stacked and ready to be pulled out for when I downsize :) and I'll pack up and SHIP OFF the big clothes! Unfortunately I already bought my wedding gown (wedding in Feb) so going to try to sell it and just buy one closer to my date :) I'm sure it won't be hard to get rid of, hope not anyway!

I SO tempted to buy a cute dress for our beach trip next summer! I've been browsing online stores and cannot WAIT to enjoy shopping again.

Although I have lots of clothes from weights gone by, I too am going to buy something as motivation!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
