I was sleeved on May 23rd, down 73 pounds.

I have a daily struggle getting in my Protein, I can only drink so many shakes and food... I'm lucky to eat 2 oz without being very full.

Suggestions???

Hi and welcome. We were sleeved within a week of each other and I have also lost over 70 pounds. Isn't it wonderful?

I have a Protein shake blended with berries every morning, then cheese for a morning snack, I make and freeze the Emily bites lasagna 'cupcakes' and taco ones etc and take these for lunch. Or i have a small can of tuna.I usually have a small selection of nuts and seeds for an afternoon snack and sometimes some Biltong. For dinner I will have 60 to 80 grams of meat (chicken thigh, steak, lamb, minced beef, venison, fish) and try to have some vegetables.

I finish the day with my indugence, an oval tine light break. If I am out and about during the day I will often stop somewhere and have a small soy latte.

I do vary it a little bit but this is the basic formula. I meet my Protein targets.

I hope this helps.

I'm a little over a year out and I still usually start my day with a Protein bar, especially if I'm going to the gym. I use the Premier Protein Bars, which have 30 grams of Protein. I also eat a mini babybel before I take my Vitamins because Iron makes me sick to my stomach. Eatng something first helps. lunch and dinner are usually straight protein, chicken, beef or pork. My Snacks are evolving now into fruits and veggies because I know they need to be part of my diet. I have been meeting or exceeding my original protein goal (70g daily) since about a month post op. I have actually upped my protein goal in the last few weeks to 90g daily because I've increased my workouts.

You will find a way to get there. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
