4 Week Post Operative Bliss. Learning To Love My Sleeve:)

Recommended Posts

For all the new sleevers hang on and have hope. The first three weeks for me were the worst . It hurt to drink and to eat . I was depressed hit a stall last week that I still haven't came off of but it's ok. This weekend has been the best I've felt since surgery . I was able to have a selection of foods although in small amounts I had watermelon and seafood salad with crackers, I even ate a salad :) On a down note I am completly lactose intolerant but it's ok. O yeah I had one egg with provolone cheese and salsa and it was yummy . I hope this encourages someone who having a difficult time transitioning ;) By the way I've lost 39 pounds in a month down 3 dress sizes ;)))

Yes...this definitely helps me! I am just shy of 3 weeks out, and so tired of pudding and yogurt and Soup and Protein Drinks, I can't see straight!! I know that there is light at the end of the full-liquid tunnel, but it really helps to hear it again. Thanks!!

Work it out girl! I am 3 weeks post op myself. with the 2 week pre surgery I'm down 52 pounds in 5 weeks. I am praying that week 4 will heal my stomach more. It has been "finicky" to say the VERY least...but I knew that this came with it. I go back to work tomorrow and spent this evening trying to find clothes to fit...since I kept it all..I had to go back 3 years in the walkin to find some that fit, which is a very good feeling.

I pray the swelling goes down...I am tired of eating the same things over and over!

You are inspiring me!!

I screaming....Hang in there. My body is sore becuase I ran a mile today it took 35 minutes and some spots of power walking but I did it. I told my husband I'm in a pivotal place in the WLS the first stall. I said the first 39 was easy but the next 39 are one me and I'm going to get it :) We should all be proud of the steps we are taking to be healthier people :)

How long before you ate tomatoe Soup? ?

I was able to eat Tomato Soup one week post-op. I took a can of Progresso Hearty Tomato, watered it down as per my NUTs instructions, and also added grated parmesan, then put it all in the blender until there were no chunks. It was the first thing I ate after being graduated from Clear liquids and it was sooooo good!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
