Cant Stop Crying! Help!

Recommended Posts

I had my vsg done exactly 1 week and 2 days ago. Up until yesterday, I had been fine. Ofcourse I went through the whole "head hunger" thing but other than that things were as expected. Yesterday I was getting ready for bed and was overcome with this need to cry. It has not gone away! I haven't stopped crying and I don't even know why! Is this normal? I have lost 13 pounds so far and am absolutely thrilled about that. Today tho, I have been in bed All day...minor pain in my left side and back and I cannot stop crying. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this part of the process?

I did the same thing and it is totally normal. I remember having a few bad days and crying so much! I think part of it is the "let down." Think about it, you have been preparing for this for MONTHS and then it is finally over. You know what I mean? Your body is going through lots of changes and things DO get better!

Me too! I think it's all the estrogen released in the fat cells. I'm worried I"m going to be a basket case for the duration!

Hey hun, it's ok. I too cried at times for what seemed for no reason. Your body and hormones have been through a lot. Things will get better. Good luck on your continued weight loss. God bless!

I have PMDD and just about every month a 7-10 days before my period I cry uncontrollably. It is hormones and it sucks. I have learned that eventually it will pass. But in the moment I feel quite crazy. Hang in there!

I went through it as well! I was driving once and felt this overwhelming need to cry. I pulled over and just cried my eyes out :( I had little episodes here and there, but that was the major one.

I'm nine days out too, and sometimes feel like I'm going to lose it. I just screamed at my dog. I want to get out of my skin. I can't get away from me. You are not alone.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
