Calling All Patients Of Dr's Ponce, Lopez, Kelly, Garcia And Ortiz...

Recommended Posts

I went to Dr Kelly on May 25th and he was great. I have many posts here and some on my blog www.losethisbelly.blogspot.com near the beginning with pictures and everything. The day I got out of the hospital I went to a bullfight, shopping, and out to eat (well juice & broth). Omar is great, he can get Dr Kelly on the phone to personally answer questions quickly. Dr Kelly has a Facebook page and friended me and has commented to me there as well. I feel the surgery was very personable, I had no complications and I truly liked all the staff and my entire experience. If you have any specific questions, I will be happy to answer you. My pre-op diet combined with my post op loss is 80.8 lbs in 19 weeks so I'm very pleased with my surgery with Dr Kelly which was $5500 all inclusive plus airfare.

Thanks everyone! I feel like I have been talking to sooo many people (who have been great). I love that everyone here is really happy with their docs! but hate that it's also what has made my decision harder lol. I think I am leaning towards Dr. Ponce. I can't have it done until Dec., because of school but I am REALLY looking forward to it!

I went to Dr. Kelly and every thing went well. Its been 6 months i started out at 255 and today i weight 171 alos im 5'6 could probebly have lost more but i have been eating to many cheese crackers lol so im going to try to get back off of them. Also i'm tired of my family saying that i don't need to loose anymore. I would like to get down to 160. Omar was just being hired when i was there but i have had to cal him twice and he is quick to get me a answer or let me talk to Dr. Kelly. Follow your heart. when i was looking about 4 yrs ago Dr. kellys name was out there than when i looked last year his name just came to me again. Good Luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
